Tuesday saw record rainfall for Windsor and Essex County with 150 basement flooding calls, 50 street flooding calls and 45 flooded yard calls. Our readers captured photos of the flooding.
The Windsor Police Arson Unit is investigating after a fire Thursday evening at the vacant al-Mahdi Islamic School (the former Sacred Heart) located at 385 Cameron in the city’s west end (the former Sacred Heart).
The Provincial Anti Violence Initiative Strategy division of local policing operations made a large pot bust on Wednesday at 6645 St. Michaels Drive in LaSalle. Upon entering the residence, officers located a sophisticated cannabis marihuana grow-op consisting of over 1300 marihuana plants.
A public information open house was held on Wednesday for the Windsor-Essex Parkway at the Macedonian Community Centre on Howard Avenue outlining the next phase of work to get underway. Major tunnel construction is planned for the next six months.
