Bird Canada has released some statistics on their first year in Windsor.
They report that riders in Windsor had the longest average trip length of 4.3km. The longest single journey of 58km was taken in Calgary, followed by 43km in Windsor, 39km in Edmonton, 31km in Okotoks, 28km in Red Deer, 27km in Kelowna and 15km in St. Albert.
In the first year of its e-scooter pilot, Windsor riders took 137,298 trips and travelled more than half a million kilometres (564,866).
The Bird Canada scooter and bike share pilot program has wrapped up the first of December for the season.
The current agreement between Bird Canada and the City runs through April 2022. Once complete, City staff will share the pilot program results with City Council.
If both sides agree that the program is worth bringing back, the Birds may be back on the streets next summer.
