Local Expert Blog: A Little More Space
Saturday July 18th, 2020, 11:00am
Remember learning about the Roaring ‘20s in school – the glitz, the glam, and the gams? A lot of us are guilty of getting excited about 2020 because it was our turn to redefine the Roaring ‘20s.
Well, we aren’t off to a great start.
Now that our plans for the year have been put on hold, it does leave us looking for things to keep us occupied. For many, this has been a great opportunity to clean out the house (yeah, we are talking about that back closest or attic space that threatens to explode into the hallway whenever you try to open the door).
COVID Clear-Out
If there is one thing COVID-19 gave us, it was time. Time to work on those household chores we have been putting off for weeks, months, or even years.
That being said, you probably completed some serious deep cleaning, organizing, and purging. It’s easy, of course, to deal with the purge. Either it goes in the trash or to Goodwill. But what about the stuff that you want to keep (for whatever reason, no judgement here)?
Sometimes when space is tight at home, a storage unit is your next best option. With that in mind, always do your due diligence by researching your best options in your town or city. After all, not all storage units are created equal.
Look into services and qualities like:
- Ventilation
- Dehumidification
- Security
- Accessibility
At First Stop Services, individuals can choose between two premium self-storage sizes with all the above services and qualities:
Unit A: 10’x20’ (approximately fits 120 boxes)
Unit B: 10’x10’ (approximately fits 50 boxes)
Your stored items mean something to you. Always demand the best for those items that can’t simply be replaced.
P.S. If paper is part of your clear-out, don’t forget that sensitive documents need to be shredded.
Simply throwing them in the trash makes them available to identity thieves who have no qualms about picking through your trash. Do your best to understand what does and doesn’t need to be shredded. Remember, when in doubt, shred!
