A Windsor woman is $100,000 richer after winning on an Lotto Max with Encore ticket purchase.
The Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corporation says Sherri Pukay of Windsor matched the last six of seven Encore numbers in exact order in the April 24th Lotto Max draw.
They say Pukay, 38, plays the Lotto Super Pack every week, and following the draw, used the ticket Checker at a retailer, saw the “Big Win” message, and thought she had won $100.
“The cashier asked me if I wanted to scan the ticket at the retailer terminal, and when it was scanned the terminal locked and we waited for the call from OLG,” Pukay said.
Pukay called her boyfriend from the store and asked him to meet her there. “I said, ‘I need you to come be with me, I think I won big, like over $1,000!’ And a few minutes later he was there,” she said. “When we found out the real amount, we were shocked!”
The OLG says Pukay has used some of her winnings to buy her dream car. “It’s a Ford Taurus Limited, fully loaded with nice rims and slate grey in colour with a little sparkle.”
The winning ticket was purchased at Canadian Variety on Lauzon Road in Windsor.
The OLG says their Prize Centre in Toronto has resumed in-person prize claims for winning ticket holders of $50,000 or more, by appointment only.
