Windsor had the chance to take a stranglehold on the series, but London was ready for the challenge. At the WFCU Centre, the Windsor Express seemed down and out, until the comeback began. However, Ryan Anderson manhandled his former team, netting 34 points and scoring 8 out of 11 three-point shots. With such a force, the Express weren’t able to rally against the Lightning. London evened the series with a 111-108 victory in Game 4.

Brandon Robinson and Kirk Williams Jr. each scored 24 points, while Tony Bennett added 17 points.

The Express picked up steam quickly to start Game 4. Tony Bennett was key, hitting back-to-back three-pointers. Windsor kept on firing away on the visitors. To highlight the quarter, Kirk Williams Jr. made a diving save on the play. he sent the ball up to Brandon Robinson, who swiftly threw it up to Billy Rush. He dished it off to Chris Commons for the two-handed slam. With the dunk, the Express had gone on a 16-4 run – which forced a London timeout. After that, the Lightning began to fire up. Constant offense from the Lightning put them close, as Windsor saw its massive lead slip out of their hands. The Express led by only four after the opening frame.

It wasn’t long before London tied the game in the second. The Lightning continued to take it to Windsor. Former Express star Ryan Anderson was hitting three-point shots that sank the Express deeper. Windsor was hanging on, but were still down by 6 at the half. London led 51-45.

There was a sense of urgency for windsor from the beginning of the third. London simply kept building their lead. Defensively, the Lightning forced the Express into making sloppy plays, and causing turnovers. At one point, their deficit had escalated to 19 points. In the last couple of minutes in the quarter, Windsor began to take shape. Bennett sank two big three-point shots, and Robinson added another. The momentum slowly began to go Windsor’s way, until Anderson hit a long three-pointer as time expired. The Lightning led by 16 after three quarters.

One quarter remained for the Express to get out of hot water. The game began to turn around when Billy Rush made an incredible leaping one-handed dunk. Rush tore it up to bring the crowd to life. The fans were stunned when Anderson hit yet another three for London. Back at the other end, however, Kirk Williams Jr. matched that three with his own. shortly after, Williams came up with a slick steal to go in on a hard dunk. Later, Chris Commons joined in with a shot off the backboard to bring his team to within 5. A few more baskets put Windsor’s deficit to just 1 point. Down the court, though, the Lightning were sinking a couple baskets as well. But they couldn’t match Windsor’s intensity. The Express went on a commanding 14-4 run late in the quarter. London was up by 3 with 10 seconds to go when Windsor called a timeout. On the inbound, the Express set up for the equalizing three-pointer. Bennett missed his. Williams scooped the rebound, raced to the outside and fired the ball. The shot came up just short as it bounced off the rim. Windsor’s efforts were cut short as they fell 111-108 in Game 4.

Game 5 takes place in London this Saturday, May 21st at 7pm. Game 6 will be at the WFCU Centre Friday, May 27th at 7:30pm.
