Traffic along a busy section of Dougal could get slower if City Council approves a recommendation from administration Tuesday evening.
Administration is recommending the city go ahead and lower the speed limit from 60 km/hr to 50km/h from the Expressway to Tecumseh Road.
It is hoped the slower speed will make the area safer for cyclists to travel on the roadway.
The city will also install Shared Use Lane markings on the roadway and signage and the from the Expressway westbound on-ramp to Ouellette Place.
These changes are considered an interim solution until the Central Box Study Area EA preferred design is implemented.
