If you’ve ever played tennis at one of Windsor’s many tennis courts located within our city parks, you might know of the deteriorating conditions of the playing surface, net systems and fencing surrounding the courts.
Over the years, a lack of funding has forced repairs to be pushed on and on. Fortunately, part of the City’s planned budget for the next 5 years aims to fix a lot of the deficiencies at Windsor’s tennis courts.
This year, the City will get to work on restoring courts at Meadowbrook Park, Drouillard Park, Mitchell Park, Bellewood Park and Parker Park at a combined cost of $200,000 in repairs. In 2013 the City will tackle Remington Park’s courts, and in 2014 they’ll work on Memorial Park and MicMac.
