The Windsor Spitfires were on the road Wednesday in Erie with potential to take a 3-1 lead in the series.  They were able to deliver and pulled off yet another crucial win (third in a row for those counting) and will face Erie again in game 5 on Friday night at the WFCU Center.

Windsor’s 7 goal barrage was scored by Kuhnhackl, Khokhlachev, and Johnston with a goal each in the first, then Kassian, Carrick and Kuhnhackl again in the second period before Khokhlachev added his second of the night in the third period.  Erie’s goals were scored by Hostetter, Shields, McKegg, and Cazzola.  It was not clear until game time whether Windsor’s leading sniper Tom Kuhnhackl would play after sustaining a knee injury during game three in Windsor.  This game was again penalty filled, just like the first few games of the series with a total of 38 penalty minutes between the two.  Windsor had 37 shots on Erie’s netminder Sadikov before he was replaced by backup goalie Festarini after letting in 5 goals and played the remaining 17 minutes of the third period.

Windsor has a chance to take win the series Friday night at the WFCU Center in game five now leading 3-1 in the series.
