List Of Remembrance Day Ceremonies Across Windsor-Essex

Friday morning, the Windsor-Essex community is invited to come together and honour the men and women of the Canadian Military, past and present.

Each November 11th, Canadians pay tribute to the sacrifices of those who have served their country in the military in times of war and peace.

Downtown Windsor:
Windsor’s Remembrance Day service will take place at 11:00am Representatives of the Windsor Veterans Memorial Services Committee, pre-registered wreath bearers, government officials, local elementary school children, and members of the public will attend the cenotaph in Windsor’s City Hall Square for an outdoor service. For those uncomfortable with an in-person gathering but wishing to participate in the commemoration, the service will be broadcast live on YourTV and via Facebook Live on the City of Windsor’s Facebook page. YourTV will also rebroadcast the service at 3:00pm and 7:00pm.

University of Windsor:
The University of Windsor campus community is invited to a special Remembrance Day ceremony.  The program will begin at 10:45am, outside the front entrance to Memorial Hall and will feature readings and music.

Essex:
A march will start at 10:15 from the RC Legion Br. 201 to the Cenotaph for an 11:00am service.

Amherstburg:
The parade will assemble at The Legion at 10:10am and proceed to the Cenotaph in the King’s Navy Yard for a service at 11:00am.

Comber:
Parade and ceremony at the Comber Veterans Memorial Garden on Main Street Comber Legion, Branch 241 at 10:30am.

LaSalle:
The Essex and Kent Scottish Regiment will step off a Veterans’ March at 10:40am. Starting from the Zehrs parking lot and walking along Malden Road to Normandy Street, and into Cenotaph Park for 11:00am service.

Leamington:
A parade will start on Mill Street West (in front of Thrift on Mill) at 10:40am and end at the Cenotaph where the ceremony will begin. Anyone attending the service is asked to arrive at the Cenotaph by 10:45am.

Kingsville:
Service at the Cenotaph at 11:00am. This year, the Legion will open immediately following the service. Come in for free soup, hot chocolate and coffee.
