Point Pelee National Park Tip Tower Closed

The Tip Tower at Point Pelee National Park remains closed after a safety issues was identified with the guard rail system.

Parks Canada officials say they are pursuing an engineering inspection of the structure and evaluating recommendations.

“Given the need to carry out a thorough inspection and an evaluation of recommendations, we are not able to predict a timeframe for reopening the tower at this time,” a statement read.

The Tip shuttle is still active, and the Tip area remains available for visitors.
