Local hospitals have released statements after the government announced Wednesday they would not move forward with a vaccine mandate for hospital staff,

Statement by WRH President and CEO David Musyj:

“As stated by the Ontario government, they are leaving human resource issues up to individual hospitals. The Windsor Regional Hospital (WRH) Medical Advisory Committee and Board of Directors put forward and unanimously supported the WRH vaccine policy without a provincial mandate in place in the first place. The fact the Ontario government is not proceeding with a mandate for hospitals does not change WRH’s position on its own vaccination policy that has been adopted by many other hospitals across Ontario, Canada and North America. We will continue to hold the safety of our community, patients and staff as paramount in all our decision making.”
