The Essex Municipal Ontario Provincial Police Community Policing Committee has donated $10,000.00 to the Living in Friendship and Equality Program.

The Community Policing Committee was formed in February 2012 and is comprised of two members of the OPP and six civilian volunteers who reside in the municipality, represent a wide range of age groups, and come from all walks of life.

The committee meets on a monthly basis to discuss upcoming events and current policing issues.

Every year, the committee hosts a large fundraiser with the support of local residents and businesses. The funds raised help support ongoing and new initiatives for the community. Due to COVID, the committee was unable to host their annual fundraiser in 2020. The donation was as a result of proceeds from the previous events.
