The Town of Essex is taking additional action to mitigate spread of the virus and reduce its impact on citizens, the community, and the region.
The Town has implemented supplemental cleaning procedures and added new hand sanitizing stations at all local facilities. Health experts recommend proper handwashing as a critical step to help stop the spread of the virus.
March Break and other non-drop-in programs will continue to run as scheduled. The Town has postponed all non-legislated meetings of local committees and boards for 30 days. The Monday, March 16 Regular Meeting of Council will proceed as scheduled.
“As noted by the Windsor-Essex County Health Unit, the risk of infection remains low in our region, but we are ready to adapt to any changes,” said Chris Nepszy, Chief Administrative Officer. “Citizens can rest assured that the Town is prepared to take all necessary action to protect residents, staff, and our community.”
