Trustee Fulvio Valentinis will stay on as the Chair of the Catholic Board for another year while Trustee Lisa Soulliere will remain as the Vice-Chair of the Board.
Both were acclaimed to their second terms in the positions at tonight’s annual organizational meeting.
Soulliere, who was first elected in 2000 and represents the Lakeshore area, currently serves on the Board’s Indigenous Education Advisory Committee and the Special Education Advisory Committee. Responsibly managing the Board’s assets so that student achievement, inclusivity, and quality Catholic education remain as the board’s top priorities continues to be her focus.
“As trustees we have an obligation to make sure that all of our resources are focused on providing outstanding learning experiences for our students,” said Soulliere. “I think we do a great job of educating our students, but contemporary classrooms have become much more complex and we need to be continually looking for new ways to improve how we meet their needs.”
