The Amherstburg Freedom Museum hosted their annual Emancipation Celebration at the Fogolar Furlan Friday evening.
The annual event, recognizing Emancipation Day in Canada, honours the day that has been celebrated for over 180 years in the country. This year’s event’s theme was Dress for the Red Carpet, and honoured Alton C. Parker. Live entertainment, dinner, a silent auction, a red carpet, and dancing were enjoyed throughout the evening.
