Windsor International Film Festival Celebrates Being The Largest Volunteer-Run Film Festival In Canada

The Windsor International Film Festival has won the honour of bring the biggest volunteer-run film festival in Canada last year with record-setting crowds enjoying more than 140 films from 21 countries.
Festival attendance in 2018 was a record-setting total of 28,574.
“This is a major milestone and one we’ve been eyeing since launching the Windsor International Film Festival fifteen years ago,” said WIFF Executive Director and Chief Programmer Vincent Georgie. “This remarkable achievement is a testament to the passion this community has for film and to the hard work of so many dedicated volunteers. Take a bow Windsor-Essex. You did this.”
Laura Good, Manager, Film Circuit, for TIFF, travelled to Windsor to celebrate this accomplishment with Georgie and the WIFF team.
“It’s incredible what you and your volunteers have achieved in such a short time period,” said Good. “You’ve put Windsor on the map for movie-goers and this amazing festival is only going to grow more popular. We are proud to support WIFF.
The 2019 festival takes place from November 1st to 10th.
