Monday Is Bike To Work Day

Bike month kicks off Monday with the annual bike to work day.
This year, Bike Windsor Essex and the Windsor Bicycling Committee have coordinated 11 neighbourhood rides from as far east as Tecumseh and west to LaSalle including a ride from the FCA/Chrysler Plant.
Starting points include:
- Tecumseh, sponsored by Loaring Physiotherapy and led by Charlotte Loaring, departing 6:30am
- Riverside, sponsored by Riverside Pie Cafe and led by Adriano Ciotoli of WindsorEats, departing 6:30am
- Ford City, sponsored by Grand Cantina and led by Joey Wright, departing 6:50am
- Walkerville, sponsored by Anchor Coffee and led by Pina Ciotoli of Windsor Eats, departing 7:05am
- The Chrysler/FCA Plant, led by John Scott, departing 6:45am
- South Walkerville, Remington Park, sponsored by Jose’s Bar & Grilland led by Melinda Munro, departing Optimist Park at 7:00 and Jose’s at 7:15am
- South Windsor, sponsored by Nana’s Bakery and led by Amanda Orr, departing 7:05am
- Downtown, sponsored by the Squirrel Cage and a Dog’s Breakfast and led by Sarah Morris, departing 7:10am
- University of Windsor area, sponsored by Giglio’s Market, led by Paul Henshaw, departing 6:55am
- Sandwich Towne, sponsored by Rock Bottom and led by Adam Mitchell, departing 6:45am
- LaSalle (Malden), sponsored by The Springwell Pub and led by Jessica Bondy, departing 6:30
Each of these rides will converge at Jackson Park at 7:30am and ride to the waterfront for a free community breakfast at the Waterfront Bistro.
Participants who register their pledge to ride to work on May 27 will receive a free Commemorative Bike to Work Day shirt and coffee and breakfast.
