Customers are also encouraged to make direct donations at the cash register or donation collection boxes. Pita Pit Owner Jhonny Hajjar, will match all donations received.
These donations will be used to purchase new furniture for the local Adult Day Program.
“We are hoping to raise $5,000 to equal a matching gift from Dave Cooke, longtime supporter and Honorary Director of ASWE,” said Judy Raiger, Adult Day Program Supervisor, “the new furniture we hope to purchase is designed specifically for our clients’ needs, comfort and mobility issues”.
The Day Away Program is open Monday through Saturday, and provides meaningful and appropriate activities for persons with dementia. This brings socialization and stimulation opportunities for those with the disease, as well as relief for partners in care. ASWE also provides education, counselling and specialized programs throughout Windsor & Essex County.
