UWindsor To Graduate Nearly 3,200 At Spring Convocation Ceremonies

The University of Windsor will confer degrees on nearly 3,200 graduating students during eight sessions of the University’s 105th Convocation ceremonies starting Tuesday.
The University will also award honorary degrees to eight individuals who have made outstanding contributions in the areas of social justice, literature, science education, business and diplomacy, medicine, and environmental advocacy.
Receiving honorary degrees are Mercedes Benegbi,Dr. Izzeldin Abuelaish, O. Ont., Dr. Samantha Nutt, C.M., O. Ont., Miriam Toews, O.M.m Dr. Joe Schwarcz, Lynton ‘Red’ Wilson, O.C., Dr. Mark Awuku, and Maude Barlow.
Convocation Schedule:
- On Tuesday, June 14th, at 10am, graduands of the Faculty of Education, Faculty of Human Kinetics, and the Faculty of Graduate Studies will receive degrees, and Ms. Benegbi, an honorary Doctor of Laws degree;
- On Tuesday, June 14th, at 3pm, graduands of Inter-Faculty Programs; the Faculty of Science; and the Faculty of Graduate Studies will receive degrees, and Dr. Abuelaish, an honorary Doctor of Laws degree;
- On Wednesday, June 15th, at 10am, graduands of the Faculty of Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences, and the Faculty of Graduate Studies will receive degrees, and Dr. Nutt, an honorary Doctor of Laws degree;
- On Wednesday, June 15th, at 3pm, graduands of the Faculty of Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences, and the Faculty of Graduate Studies will receive degrees, and Ms. Toews, an honorary Doctor of Laws degree;
- On Thursday, June 16th, at 10am, graduands of the Faculty of Engineering and the Faculty of Graduate Studies will receive degrees, and Dr. Schwarcz, an honorary Doctor of Laws degree;
- On Thursday, June 16th, at 3pm, graduands of the Odette School of Business, and Faculty of Graduate Studies will receive degrees, and Mr. Wilson, an honorary Doctor of Laws degree;
- On Friday, June 17th, at 10am, graduands of the Faculty of Nursing, and the Faculty of Graduate Studies will receive degrees, and Dr. Awuku, an honorary Doctor of Laws degree;
- On Friday, June 17th, at 3pm, graduands of the Faculty of Law will receive degrees, and Ms. Barlow, an honorary Doctors of Laws degree.
