More than 65,000 bottles of water have been collected by the Windsor Spitfires and are now on the road to Flint.
“We started this drive about 50 hours ago,” Spitfires spokesman Nathan Sellon said. “Donations came right up until the noon deadline today. When you average out how many bottles came in per hour, it’s staggering. We’re so grateful to everyone that stepped up.”
Leamington Flyers also helped out wrapping and loading nearly 40 skids of water this morning.
Abe Fehr, owner of Uni-Fab in Leamington provided the transportation to Flint.
