Deal For Superstore And Zehrs Employees

The United Food & Commercial Workers union and Loblaw Companies Limited have reached a deal.
Over 1,600 employees at nine local stores have been on strike since July 2nd. Those stores are the Real Canadian Superstore in Chatham, Leamington, on walker Road and Dougall Avenue in Windsor and in Sarnia. Zehrs stores include LaSalle, Tecumseh Road East in Windsor, Kingsville and Tecumseh.
Both sides returned to negotiations on July 2nd at the request of the Ministry of Labour appointed Conciliation Officer.
Votes will be scheduled in the coming week, and in the meantime strike action will continue at the nine affected stores pending the outcome of those votes.
