Adie Knox Pool Could Be Kept Open

After months of uncertainty around the future of the Adie Knox Herman Recreation Complex Pool in west Windsor, City Council is being asked to keep it open until at least December 2015.

The pool was originally slated for closure as part of the business case to build the new downtown aquatic center, but the demand for indoor pool space has increased.

City administration notes that the aquatic center has been busier then expected with swimming events, and that has resulted in the cancellation of swimming activities and programs at the complex.  In addition, the pools at the downtown YMCA and at Riverside High School have both been closed, adding more demand for indoor swimming facilities.

Administration will report back in the fall of 2015 for plans for future use of the facility and the impacts to budgets going forward.
