The president of a local building materials company is fed up with allegedly not being able to collect $100,000 owed to his company.
Charlie Hotham of Hotham Building Materials was joined by NDP MP Brian Masse, and NDP MPPs Taras Natyshak and Percy Hatfield at a press conference this morning to address payment problems surrounding ongoing HG Parkway girder issues.
“To date, my company is owed an outstanding balance of over $100,000 by the Freyssinet Group,” said Hotham.
“I have made several unsuccessful attempts to bring this to the attention of the provincial government.”
Hotham alleges Freyssinet stopped making payments when the province decided to remove all unsafe girders from the Parkway.
“I have been left with no other recourse than to commence legal action against both the Freyssinet Group as well as the provincial government,” says Hotham.
The province ordered the removal and replacement of hundreds of girders on the Parkway back in November.
