Tourism Week To Highlight The Best Of Windsor-Essex

This Monday, Tourism Windsor Essex Pelee Island kick-off to Tourism Week at the province of Ontario’s Travel Information Centre in Downtown Windsor.
This annual Open Houses will exhibit what each region has to offer visitors for the upcoming, busy summer season and beyond. They will also feature travel-related displays and a series of special events in partnership with their local tourism industry partners, which include Tourism Windsor Essex Pelee Island
Tourism Week in Ontario highlights the economic and social value of tourism. Tourism in Ontario generates more than $23 billion in economic activity every year and supports more than 300,000 direct and indirect jobs. The province welcomes almost 18 million out-of-province visitors annually.
“The strong, ongoing partnership we have with the Ontario Tourism Marketing Partnership Corporation underscores the importance of the visitor services delivery model – being a trusted source that can provide not only guidance but context to the visitor,” said Gordon Orr, CEO, Tourism Windsor Essex Pelee Island. “Our partnership also provides us with opportunities to ensure front line staff, at both the provincial and municipal level, delivers the best form of visitor services, with educational modules such as LGBT diversity training.”
The open house takes place Monday at 10am at the Windsor Park Travel Information Centre, located at 110 Park Street East.
