The City of Windsor’s second Spay/Neuter Voucher Program opened to the public earlier today, and the program’s 500 vouchers for feral cats are already accounted for within one hour of going on sale. Vouchers for owned cats are still available.
A maximum of two vouchers per household will be issued where the cats are owned.
This $75,000 program was approved by City Council in the 2013 Operating Budget. In an effort to reduce the number of homeless cats and number of cats euthanized in the city, 1,000 vouchers were made available to sterilize cats. The vouchers are valued at $75 each.
Vouchers may be redeemed at any participating veterinary clinic. Recipients must call and book appointments for spay/neuter services in advance.
To request a voucher, call the City’s 311 service. Those who meet the eligibility criteria will receive their vouchers in the mail.
