Fluoride Removed From Drinking Water System

The Windsor Utilities Commission announced Monday afternoon that it has ceased the fluoridation of drinking water for Windsor, LaSalle and Tecumseh.

At a special meeting that was held on January 28th, Windsor City Council voted to remove the fluoride from drinking water. Windsor Utilities then made a submission to the Ministry of the Environment on February 5th to amend its operating license.

An amended operating license was received today removing the requirements to fluoride the water supply, and upon the receipt of the license, adding fluoride to the drinking water was stopped.
