Windsor Firefighters have extinguished a blaze in the 1000 block of Garden Court Drive in East Windsor and a male occupant is in hospital recovering.
Firefighters arrived to find smoke coming from the residence and rescued a male. He has been taken to hospital. The fire was brought under control shortly. There’s no word at this time as to how the fire started but the Ontario Fire Marshall’s office has been called to investigate.
Meanwhile, firefighters extinguished two other blazes in town this morning: a fire on a porch of a home near Tuscarora and Marion was quickly put out with a fire hose. Firefighters were also called to the 1600 block of Ouellette and found heavy smoke on the 8th floor. Firefighters determined that the cause of the smoke was a pot on a stove.
