The Society of St. Vincent de Paul has issued a warning that someone has been soliciting donations for the Society who is not authorized to do so.

Pam Baksi, President of the Society of Saint Vincent de Paul, says they do not conduct door-to-door solicitations or solicit telephone donations.

“While SSVP is grateful to our donors, it is important that the public be alerted to people requesting money, food or other items in a door-to-door campaign. The generosity of the good people of Windsor and Essex County may make residents vulnerable to people misrepresenting charities. We at SSVP wish to notify the public of the possibility of fraudulent attempts to get money or goods under false pretences,” Baksi stressed in a news release.
