A house fire in the 500 block of Aylmer Avenue is out at this hour.
Windsor firefighters responded to the area of Wyandotte East and Aylmer shortly after 4am Wednesday for reports of flames and heavy smoke pouring from a residence.
The fire appeared to have been concentrated to the main floor of the building and parts of the exterior of a neighboring auto body shop were slightly damaged from heat and flames. Fire spread to the attic of the house but was quickly contained.
Initial reports suggested that a dog may have been trapped inside and firefighters rescued a German shepherd from a room near the back of the house.
It appears no one was home at the time of the fire, damage to the building is significant.
