Police Still Looking for Knife Used in Albert Street Murder

Windsor Police are continuing to investigate the murder of 40 year old Lance Smoke on November 24th.

Police are requesting the assistance of the public in locating the murder weapon.

“The wounds inflicted on the victim have led investigators to believe that the weapon used to commit the murder was a knife. At this time, the murder weapon has not yet been recovered.” says Sgt. Brett Corey.

Investigators have recovered a knife sheath. The sheath is similar to the one depicted in the picture above. Police state the sheath is black in colour and embossed with an emblem reading “DUCKS UNLIMITED”. The emblem is gold in colour. The sheath measures approximately 29 cm in length.

The knife associated to this sheath is believed to be approximately 26 cm in length.

Police want to hear from you if you know:

Anyone known to possess a similar type sheath and or knife; anyone with information on the sale or purchase of such sheath or knife; or if anyone has found a similar type of knife.

Jesse Meloche is currently in custody after turning himself in last week; a bail hearing has not yet been scheduled.
