windsoriteDOTca presents a look at local candidates for Ontario’s 2011 Fall Provincial Election.  Descriptions of candidates are provided by publicly available information and parties are presented alphabetically.

Teresa Piruzza is running to be the Member of Provincial Parliament for the riding of Windsor-West. Teresa works as the Executive Director of Employment and Social Services for the City of Windsor, helping families find work.

Teresa has dedicated her life to helping local families thrive and succeed and has served our community working with MPPs Bill Wrye and Sandra Pupatello.

Teresa remains proud the Liberal government worked hard to save auto jobs and bring new clean energy jobs to the region and is dedicated to continuing our improvements in health care and education.

With her lifelong dedication to our community, Teresa will be a strong voice for local residents in the Ontario legislature.

Teresa has an MBA and a BA in International Relations from the University of Windsor and is a mother of two young boys with her husband, John.

If elected, Teresa is committed to continuing our investments in heath care and education.

There are nearly 300 more doctors in Windsor than there were 8 years ago and the delivery of important local programs such as cancer care are now of the best quality.

A new Liberal government is committed to excellence in education so our youth have the best possible opportunities. We will cut tuition fees by 30%, saving university students 1,600 per year starting this January, and will implement full day kindergarten by 2014- saving the average family $6,500 annually in daycare costs.

Liberals will continue to make job creation a top priority. Liberals stepped in to save thousands of jobs in the auto sector and the construction of the Windsor Parkway is creating thousands of new jobs while getting trucks off our main streets.

The energy plan of the Conservatives and NDP will eliminate thousands of clean energy jobs in Windsor and Essex County. The Liberals have created 2,000 clean energy jobs in the region with more to come.
