The Arts Council Windsor & Region (ACWR) is seeking an Executive Director to lead the organization and steer its future development. The ACWR is a nonprofit, umbrella arts organization for the cultural community of Windsor Essex County, located in Southwest Ontario and bordering with Detroit Michigan.

Responsibilities:

The Executive Director, in collaboration with and under the guidance of the Board of Directors, will oversee all aspects of the organization’s operations, including development, budgeting and finance, communications, partnerships and future planning/visioning.

• Oversee management of all aspects of operations and all tasks related to the general administration of the organization.
• Grant writing and reporting.
• Fundraising and resource development.
• Management of financial records, budgets and fiscal accountability.
• Hiring and management of both part-time and contract staff.
• Regular reporting to the Board of Directors.

Qualifications:

• Post-secondary degree, preferably in arts, arts administration, management or a similar field.
• Administrative experience, preferably with some experience in the non-profit sector.
• Strong organizational, managerial and analytical skills.
• Excellent interpersonal and collaborative skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with evidence of successful grant writing.
• Experience with financial recording and budgeting.
• The ability to work independently and multi-task is crucial.
• An understanding of the non-profit sector and an interest in contemporary arts and culture will be considered an asset.

Additional Information:

• This position is a full-time appointment ranging from 20-40 hrs/wk.
• Annual salary range: $30,000- $50,000 (pending grant approval)
• The position will commence late October 2011.
• The position will be offered with three (3) month probation period attached
