Hello time traveller!!
This article is 4624 days old.
The information listed below is likely outdated and has been preserved for archival purposes.

Due to the volume of calls recorded by 311 from residents who experienced flood related damages, the City of Windsor will provide a special garbage pick-up for the worst flood affected areas (South Windsor area, generally bounded by North Talbot to Norfolk, Huron Line to Dougall).

They City is asking those residents to follow the following:

-Those residents in South Windsor, who experienced flood damage, are asked to call 311 to request a special collection.

-Normal residential garbage pick-up continues to apply.  Flood damaged materials will be picked up on regularly schedule collection days, along with regular garbage.  Some delays may occur as a result of high volumes.

-Flood damaged material is to be placed at the curb by 6:00 am on regularly scheduled collection days.  Flood damaged material should be properly packaged and weigh no more than 22 kg (44lbs).  Carpet must be rolled and cut into 4’ lengths.  Furniture should be placed at curb side in an orderly fashion.

-Residents in the target areas that have already received collection this week and still require a special collection are asked to call 311 to request an additional collection.

Collection crews will not be picking-up loose materials, white goods or appliances, or household chemical wastes.  To learn more about what constitutes “properly packaged” materials please refer to information in your collection calendar.
