As we told you back in June, this year proceeds from Festival Epicure would go to benefit Pathway to Potential, Windsor/Essex County’s Poverty Reduction Strategy.
The numbers are in and the total amount that was raised was over $12,000 dollars for local community gardens.
This investment into community gardens will allow people with limited means and space the opportunity to grow their own food and it will allow food banks to provide more healthy food options for people in need.
The following agencies will benefit from the $12,000 investment: Amherstburg Community Garden, Campus Garden Project, Community Garden in West Windsor, Harambee Neighbourhood Garden, Kingsville Community Garden, and Unemployed Help Centre’s Community Garden.
