Windfest Productions producers of Festival Epicure has chosen Pathway to Potential, Windsor-Essex County’s Poverty Reduction Strategy, as the organization of choice.
Pathway to Potential is committed to supporting existing community initiatives that aim to prevent and reduce poverty in our community, and for this reason has decided to donate its portion of the festival proceeds to its community gardens. Amherstburg Community Garden, the Campus Garden Project, the Community Garden in West Windsor, the Harambee Neighbourhood Gardens, the Kingsville Community Garden and the Unemployed Help Centre’s Community Garden will all benefit when you attend Epicure this Summer.
Food bank usage is up 242% between 2006 and 2009 and rising rates of preventable chronic diseases in Windsor-Essex, Pathway to Potential hopes to use its participation in this year’s Festival Epicure to help build awareness about the numerous benefits of community gardens.
Festival Epicure runs from July 8th to July 10th at Festival Plaza.
