When Chrysler closed the big van plant on Pillette Road on June 12 2003, the building was torn down, and the land placed up for sale.
In May of 2008 Rosati group purchased the land, developed a plan and named it the Grand Central Business Park, that was approved in May of 2008. The land was divided into 6 development parcels. Little action till now has taken place on the site, aside from being used for new car storage for near by Chrysler.
A report goes to council tonight for site plan approval for the first new development on the lands. It includes a 754,957 square foot warehouse, 440 vehicle parking spots, 160 loading spaces and 22 bike parking spaces.
Landscaped berms already on site will be preserved and enhanced and more will be added to protect the residential dwellings.
