Walk Your Neighbourhoods This Weekend At “Jane’s Walk”

The City of Windsor’s Cultural Affairs Department is hosting a Jane’s Walk.

Jane’s walk is your opportunity to explore the city, share stories about your community and connect with neighbours. It’s a global movement, of free, citizen-led walking tours inspired by Jane Jacobs.

Here is a look at the events:

Come See the Birds:
Friday, May 1st from 10am to 11am at the Ojibway Nature Centre. This short hike highlights the colourful variety of migrating birds.

Beyond the Bridge:
Friday, May 1st from 4:30pm to 6:30pm. A Walkumentary moves from past to present with stops at The Bloomfield House, Sandwich Teen Action Group and the historic Sandwich Baptist Church.

Get Down (Town) Windsor: Saturday, May 2nd from 1pm to 2:30pm. Discover amazing spaces in Downtown Windsor. Walk and talk with Planners from the City’s Planning Department.

Ford City Jane’s Walk:
Saturday, May 2nd from 1pm to 2pm. Join us for a walk in historic Ford City, led by residents and community members.

Behind the Stucco:
Sunday May 3rd from 3pm to 4pm. Downtown dweller Sarah Morris helps you discover the history behind familiar downtown spots.

Community Connections:
Sunday May 3rd from 10am to 11:30am. Discover more about the Downtown Windsor community through neighbourhood stories of the present and past.

Sculpture Park Selfie Walk: Friday May 1nd, Saturday May 2nd, and Sunday May 3rd. All Day. Anytime. Walk the path of the Windsor Sculpture Park. Take a Selfie with your favourite sculpture and Tweet #JanesWalkSculptureSelfie.
