The rush of the holiday season comes in like cold winter blast and tends to leave just as abruptly, but if you’re looking to keep the thrill and excitement going for just a little while longer we have a list of events and attractions to keep you busy and having a blast well into the new year! We’ll even include the blast of fireworks on New Year’s Eve to jump start things!

From family fun for all ages, to a swanky night out. Twinkling lights shining bright are not just for Christmas! The light festivals throughout Windsor Essex will be lighting up the nights into the first week of January. If you don’t have a chance to see them before Christmas, or just go for a repeat visit. Grab a warm beverage, your favourite people and bundle up for a stroll through Jackson Park for Bright Lights Windsor open until January 7th, King’s Navy Yard Park for Amherstburg River Lights open until January 8th, Lakeside Park in Kingsville for Kingsville Fantasy of Lights, open until January 3rd and LaSalle Civic Centre for LaSalle Holiday Lights and Heritage Nights, open until January 7th. ADVENTURE BAY FAMILY WATER PARK
Need to keep the kids busy during the holiday break? Make a splash at Adventure Bay Family Water Park which will be open every day from 12pm to 4pm, December 27th to January 7th. They’ll soak up the fun on 10 water slides including the Master Blaster and Python, FlowRider surf simulator, wave pool, Tot Lock slides for the younger visitors and of course the lazy river!
The Chimczuck Museum has a a festive event schedule and interactive activities to entertain and delight the whole family. Visit the Museum during the winter break and try your hand at Holiday Bingo: search through the exhibitions and fill up your bingo card for a small prize. Be sure to check out the Worlds of the Night travelling exhibition providing a mysterious and exciting experience while learning about astonishing night facts! The Rosalie Trombley Commemorative Exhibition explores the life and work of radio pioneer Rosalie Trombley and includes musician features, audio recordings, fashion, awards and artifacts from the Big 8. Start your New Year’s celebrations off a bit early with a 2pm Windsor Spitfires game as they take on the Sarnia Sting! Kick off January with some action on the court as the Windsor Express 2024 Season kicks off vs the Montreal Tundra on Friday January 12th at 7pm at the WFCU Centre. The Windsor Express season runs through April with single game, flex packs and season memberships available.
Winter Bites Restaurant Week hosted by WindsorEats is back and giving you the perfect reason to dine out. Food lovers visit participating restaurants across Windsor Essex to feast on special prix-fixe 3 course menus. Winter Bites Restaurant Week will take place January 15-21.
The Colosseum, The Capitol Theatre and Chrysler Theatre will all be serving up excitement on their main stages in January and throughout the Winter months. Break up those cold winter nights with a hot night out! Blue Rodeo and Lance Burton will entertain you at Caesars Windsor, the Windsor Symphony Orchestra will serenade you with 3 different shows in January and celebrate dance at the Chrysler Theatre at the I Am King: Michael Jackson Dinner Show or EH Celebration of Dance at the Chrysler Theatre.
