Windsor Spitfires General Manager Warren Rychel announced Tuesday the signing of free agent Cristiano DiGiacinto.
The 5’11, 185-pound native of Hamilton, Ontario played nine games this season for the OJHL’s Hamilton Red Wings, scoring eight times and adding three assists along with 37 penalty minutes.
“We’re excited to add Cristiano to our lineup,” Rychel said. “With limited draft picks, we need to find and sign quality players. We like his intensity and ability around the net. He’s a gritty player that has demonstrated the ability to finish at the Tier II level. We look forward to him doing the same with the Windsor Spitfires.”
Born January 10, 1996, DiGiacinto also played four games with the Burlington Cougars last season, posting a goal and two assits with four penalty minutes.
DiGiacinto will be in the lineup Thursday night, when the Spitfires host the Guelph Storm.
