One person has been taken to hospital after the minivan he was driving was involved in a low-speed collision with a VIA Rail train.
Firefighters, paramedics and police were called to George Avenue near Wyandotte around 10:45pm for a report that a train had struck a vehicle.
Firefighters found a minivan that had been struck by a train, pushed out of the way of the train and subsequently caused one of the rail crossing’s warning arms to be sheared off.
The man was extricated from his vehicle by firefighters and was taken to Hotel Dieu by paramedics, with minor injuries, as a precaution.
Windsor Police say that after investigating, they determined that the driver went around the warning arms and was struck by the train.
There were no significant injuries reported on board the train.
