Construction is set to start in January on updated streetscaping for Ottawa Street.
City Council will be asked to approve an expenditure of $1,785,000 for improvements between Windermere and Pierre which include a new road surface, curbs and sidewalks. Rumble strips — the brick crosswalks that produce a rumbling sound when vehicles drive over them, will also be removed.
Another $170,000 will also be spent on installing new LED street lighting on concrete poles.
In order to have as minimal disruption to the BIA as possible, work is set start in January and be wrapped up by July.
The matter goes before City Council next week.
