It’s Heritage Week in Ontario, and in recognition of seven days dedicated to history, the Windsor Heritage Committee presented four local property owners with “Built Heritage Awards” at City Council on Tuesday evening.
Dillon Hall at the University of Windsor was constructed in 1928. The building was constructed as Assumption college and was originally the high school building for the college.
Now part of the University of Windsor, rehabilitation of the building began in 2010. The vines that covered the walls for decades were removed, the cupolas were reconstructed and repairs have been made to the stone work; as well, interior renovations have taken place to bring classroom space up to the 21st century.
