The Windsor Essex Mobility Group is holding it’s fifth Public Information Open House for the Windsor-Essex Parkway on Wednesday.
The open house will be held at the Macedonian Community Centre from 2pm to 8pm, with general presentation times at 2:30pm and 6pm.
Topics to be discussed are:
- Parkway Elements: Parkway grading; aesthetics and locations of pump stations, power distribution assemblies and retaining walls; removal of Highway 3 bridge where it crosses over Highway 401; details on the remaining tunnels (1, 4, 6, 8, 9 and 10a) and bridges (3, 4 and 5); proposed berm at Outer Drive; permanent ponds; and electrical distribution, illumination, ATMS and signalization.
- Environmental Details: status of the Human Health Risk Assessment and update on the wetland compensation. Anticipated Road Closures and Construction of Diversions: general information; public notification; proposed temporary closures of the Matchette Road on-ramp to E.C. Row Expressway, Cousineau Road, Outer Drive, South Talbot Road, Laurier Parkway and Howard Avenue and associated diversions including Diversion 10 (Cabana/Todd Lane), 11a and 11b (Geraedts Drive) and 14 (Sandwich Parkway).
- The Construction Experience: schedule for upcoming construction and construction impact mitigation. General Update: design responses to community input; winter maintenance; key community concerns and an update on pile driving.
The project area has been divided into three geographic phases. Phase One is between Outer Drive and Geraedts Drive. Phase Two is between Geraedts Drive and Cabana Road. Phase Three is between Cabana Road and Ojibway Parkway.
There will be area or phase specific breakout discussions held following each of the General Presentations, at approximately 3pm and 6pm . Residents are invited to participate in the smaller discussion groups and ask questions of the Construction Managers who will update the group on ongoing construction activities.
