The Downtown Windsor Business Improvement Association is looking for artists and architects to make downtown look great during the holidays.
Funded by the Government of Ontario, Winter Works is a new addition to Winter Fest, a multi-week holiday event, which sees programming and activities throughout the core for the duration of the holiday season.
Winter Works is intended to be a six-week exhibition of immersive, interactive temporary winter art installations, all of which will be designed to incorporate existing street furniture or infrastructure stationed across the downtown, primarily on main and secondary streets.
“We are looking for artists who can create something magnificent without compromising the integrity of the furniture or infrastructure, or safety and accessibility,” says Pat Papadeas, Acting Chair of the DWBIA. “The artists that will be selected will augment the beauty of the core and amplify the brilliance of the holiday season in their own, unique way.”
The deadline for submissions is October 25th, 2022. The call to artists and the application form can be found at downtownwindsor.ca/winter-works.
