The Town of LaSalle is looking for feedback on the proposed Benoit House Museum.

The house was built in the 1920’s by the first Mayor of LaSalle, Vital Benoit and is part of the overall vision of the  LaSalle Petite Côte (Small Coast) Waterfront Project.  The project located along the Detroit River, will be a connected, multi-amenity environment that offers the community an expanded, year round destination. It will be an authentic site that captures the rich history and culture of LaSalle.

The town says the new museum will help add to the culture and overall attraction of the waterfront, and will function as a hub for community engagement and education in local heritage and cultural activities.

The entire waterfront project site will be an accessible and interactive location celebrating the many cultures that make up LaSalle including Indigenous, French and English.

Until September 17, the Town will be seeking public feedback about the Benoit House Museum using PlaceSpeak.  To participate through PlaceSpeak, the participant will need to create a PlaceSpeak account. This account only needs to be created once, and then the participant will have access to other Town of LaSalle consultation projects, as well as projects that are posted to PlaceSpeak by other organizations.
