Leamington has purchased two parcels of property that they hope will encourage the development of attainable and affordable housing and support other identified strategic long-term goals.
The properties are the former Leamington District Secondary School and the former Mill Street Public School. The use or disposal of the buildings located on each site has yet to be determined.
“The provision of suitable housing to meet the diverse needs of Leamington’s population is a fundamental component of the Municipality’s Strategic Plan,” said Peter Neufeld, Chief Administrative Officer. “We look forward to building on local partnerships to generate inclusive, affordable housing solutions that work for people across the housing continuum, and fulfilling other long-term strategic goals.”
The Municipality will provide further details of the proposed development and the partnerships involved as plans progress.
