Leamington is cancelling the rest of events planned for this summer as well as day camps.
Cancelled events include the Mill Street Markets in August and September, the Summer Concert Series at the Sunset Stadium in August =and Labour Day, Sunday Serenades at Rick Atkin Park and Music at the Marina.
Officials say that the decision to cancel municipal events and summer day camp is in response to the provincial emergency order that prohibits organized public events and social gatherings of more than 10 people, and supports Public Health direction that physical distancing is critical to slowing the spread of COVID-19.
In addition, the facility where summer day camp programming is held remains closed to the public and has been established as a COVID-19 assessment and testing centre and as a pop-up isolation centre should the need arise as a result of outbreaks within the agricultural sector.
