There are some changes to this year’s Windsor Santa Claus parade.
The November 30th parade will start at Riverside Drive West and Janette and head east to Ouellette Avenue, then up Ouellette Avenue ending at Wyandotte Street. This is a change from the usual starting point of Giles and Ouellette and ending at Chatham Street.
According to the Windsor Parade Corporation, the decision was not theirs.
“It was mandated by Windsor Police Services. Since they now have to cover Amherstburg they do not have adequate resources for special events in Windsor,” said David Grimaldi of the Parade Corporation.
The parade will also start at 6:30pm from its usual 6pm start time. The change is due to the CP Holiday Train being in town on the same date. The train rolls into the CP Yard at Erie Street West and Janette Street at 5:20pm, with the show running from 6pm to 6:30pm.
