Dog owners in the Town of Essex could soon be getting a friendly knock on the door.
As part of the Town’s dog licensing program, canvassers will be visiting homes in the municipality to inform residents of dog licensing requirements and provide an opportunity to purchase dog tags.
“This is an opportunity to purchase a dog tag from the comfort of your own home,” said Robert Auger, Town Solicitor/Clerk, adding that owners will still be able to visit Town Hall to purchase their tags.
The Town is also hiring canvassers for the campaign. Interested candidates, over the age of 18, are invited to submit a resume or letter of interest by mail, fax or email, outlining past relevant experience and providing complete contact information (mailing address, contact phone numbers and email address), to the attention of Robert Auger, Town of Essex, 33 Talbot Street South, Essex, ON N8M 1A8, or [email protected].
The application is available online at www.essex.ca/canvasser.
