The Vollmer Culture and Recreation Complex in LaSalle will reopen Monday after a small ammonia leak.
About 1:45pm Sunday, the alarms in the refrigeration plant room of the Vollmer Complex detected ammonia in the air, and the entire complex was evacuated.
LaSalle Fire and LaSalle Police immediately responded to the situation. A leaking pipe in the arena refrigeration room caused the ammonia leak and has been removed from service.
Air levels in the arena refrigeration room are now back to normal.
All activities will take place Monday as scheduled including the Family Day recreational skates and swims.
